Blue and pink

Dear ladies thank you so much for your suggestions on the last post. Some of you suggested shortening the dress, which is a great idea. I also agree on the sleeves being too retro, so I will shorten them also. It will be one of my summer refashion projects once school is over. Today I wore the blue vintage dress again with a different hair style and necklace, I got many compliments at work and my students applauded after I modeled it to them (hehehe the good thing about working with little ones is that you can get away with being silly) my kids are so sweet! I'm going to be so sad to see them go, this was one of the best classes I've had so far.
I love these platform sandals, they make me look almost 6 feet tall, I love feeling taller. I can't believe I just said that, back in high school (in Mexico) I used to be bullied for being tall; the average woman is 5"1', I'm 5"6'.
This outfit makes me look so much like my mom. ^_^
Dress: vintage/ thrifted
Belt: thrifted
Necklace: Kie & Kate
Sandals: Target

I'm glad you are embracing your height! I could never understand why a tall person wouldn't love being tall - but of course I'm such a shortie!

You always look so pretty.
You remind me of my Mom in her high school senior picture. She was the prettiest girl in the world. I used to pray and ask God to make me look like her. He didn't.

You always look so pretty in your dresses! I haven´t worn a dress or even a skirt in ages, but you inspired my to search my closet and, as there was nothing I liked, to sew two dresses for the summer. There are no good thrift shops in Germany, and the dresses in the shops were too short or too low-cut, so I tried to sew up something myself. The dresses are not perfect, but wearable and a good start.

Hi Shey,

Thanks for your encouraging words on my blog, I really feel motivated to loose this time, not for clothes, other people, but for my own self esteem. I love your blog and I love the blue dress!

I thought the average height of a woman was taller... I am a giant at 5'8" haha. The small details make this outfit so modern and stylish, love it!

yes you are my friend! Well there's tall women of 5'4 not eveyone is so short, it's just an average but yes we would be considered very tall indeed. =)

Embrace being tall since I wish I had a couple extra inches to my 5'4 frame. I'm so mad I didn't buy that necklace it looks great on you!!
