Baby blue & Red

I've found out that whenever I make an impulse buy I can't sleep, last night was one of those nights, yesterday I went to Anthropologie and I bought a denim skirt, cute yes, but expensive, and because I don't know whether there will be teacher cuts in the district I don't want to overspend (which I have already done but that's not the point). Last night I tossed and turned until 5:30 a.m. when my alarm went off and it was time to go to work. Needless to say I went back today during lunch to return the skirt and tonight I hope I can sleep better. I love my new shoes though! I got them at Dillard's and they were 70% off, I can't say no to red shoes even though I got a mean nice/mean comment on red shoes at work.
A lady told me she loved my shoes BUT...her grandma always said women who wore red shoes were easy. I'm not a smarty mouth my mom always taught me "if you are not going to say something nice than don't say it at all." So I just smiled and kept working.

Do bad comments ruin your favorite wardrobe items? I've been known to stop wearing things because of bad comments but I don't think it will happen with these shoes.
My favorite vintage cameo necklace.
And my new old sweater, my friend at work told me she has some vintage scarfs to give me, I'm thrilled!
Outfit Details:

I am a sucker for a great sale and darling red shoes @ 70% off...totally qualify.

I don't mind if someone gives me a "nasty compliment". I wear what I like. If they don't like it...they don't have to wear it. No biggy.

If you like it and feel good in it...wear it. :)

You look very patriotic today, how festive!

I'm sure you can find an equally fantastic skirt for not so expensive... Good job being responsible :)

I love red shoes, they are awesome and that person is mean.

I will NEVER understand people who feel the need to say mean things about other people like that. Never.
I love your red shoes! They're different from any shoes I've ever seen. Well done!

I can't believe someone would say that! I love the shoes, and I don't think you should let it bother you. They are fabulous and add so much to the outfit!

I LOVE your red shoes. I have heard the same comment when I wear red shoes. I just ignore it. Don't stop wearing something you love because someone had a sourpuss.

Thanks ladies, I don't think this lady was trying to be mean, maybe she thought she had to say it, who knows but like many of you said I'm not going to stop wearing red shoes, in fact I might have to wear red shoes tomorrow again hehehe =)

My boss always tells me about the movie where the girl's red shoes make her dance to death... think I prefer being called easy to that! Can't believe what people say sometimes.

Your shoes are beautiful. I would wear them every day! I have found that red shoes go with just about everything, grey, blue, black, brown. It really functions as a neutral when on your feet. It makes a blah outfit look smashing!

I love your blog and am praying for you and the job situation...it's tough everywhere.

I would actually wear these heels. They look like something I would be able to wear without tripping and breaking my neck. People say the weirdest things. My dad taught me the same thing your mom taught you. Can't say I've always followed it, but I try.

I feel the same way when I buy certain things even when I get a good deal and know that there was money in my budget for the purchase.

Anyways, you look great!

I hate those back-handed compliment/insult hybrids! I personally LOVE the shoes, the shape and mix of matte and shiny is so cool! That cameo necklace is so cool too - I've never seen anything like it!

well i love your shoes, but i know how it feels - like it doesn't matter how many positive comments you get, its the one bad one which ruins your day.

I'm sorry the anthro skirt tormented you. maybe it will go on sale you can buy it again?

i'm really disappointed i had to return the chambray shirt i bought because it was strangely enormous.

Oh those shoes are lovely! That comment is cracking me up. Sometimes you have to wonder why people let things out of their mouths but I hope you will just laugh it off and know that I am super jealous of those red babies!

Red Shoes used to be a sign of royalty. Only royals were allowed to wear them. So there.
