This year I also started this blog, which has helped ease some of my insecurities and best of all I've found wonderful, inspiring blogs and made great blogger buddies.
Okay off to the outfit, I didn't know if this outfit would work or if it would look too 80's, I wanted to add a pearl necklace but I also wanted to keep the outfit simple and let the ruffles be the focal point.
I'm getting better at styling my hair, even though it's naturally wavy it's often unrully so most days I use a curling iron. Before I use a hot curler I always spray my hair with a heat protector like Nexxus Heat Protection or Chi Thermal Protection, they are worth the money if you don't want to fry your hair.
This is the parka coat I found at the thrift store the other day. I cleaned out my closet again so there was room for this baby, it was a bit expensive ($11) but it's in mint condition and it's warm.
I had to take off the jacket because the weather is back to the 70's, it doesn't seem like winter at all.

Hahaha, I laughed when you said the coat was expensive at $11. :) That is actually quite a bit for a thift store buy, though. :) I love the ruffle shirt!
Hope you have a Happy New Year!
hehehe yeah, I guess I'm kind of cheap at the thrift stores, anything above $6 it's expensive.=D
The blouse is divine, and it doesn't look 80s at all! It works really well with the leather skirt.
Happy New Year!
Cute! I really like this outfit! One of my favs.
Happy New Year!
I LOVE this shirt especially with the belt. I would love to have a shirt like this.
Haha, I hate it when things are overpriced in thrift stores!
(but anywhere else you'd be talking about your awesome score, haha)
I definitely think the look works - I love the leather pencil skirt!
Hope you have a wonderful new year!
i LOVE the pairing of the ultra-feminine with the leather skirt. I laughed too, when you said the coat was a splurge. One time I found a coat for around 20 dollars at a thrift store. [and did NOT buy it :-] It seems like lately your style is more classy and simple, loving it!
Thank you ladie!
Megan I am trying to try new things so you are right my style has been changing a bit, it's baby steps but I want to find things that are a bit more my age. =)
I love the leather with the ruffles it's a great contrast! Have a Happy New Year :)

you look wonderful here, I've throughly enjoyed your blog all year :) and look forward to what you have in store for 2011!
you're a nifty thrifter! love the leather skirt
Cute shoes! Happy new years! x hivennn.
I love that shirt so much. This might be my favorite outfit you have ever worn. LOVE it!~
This look literally made me gasp out loud because it is so beautifully gorgeous. Not too 80s at all. I love the way you belted the top over your skirt. Flawless!
I love this outfit, especially the blouse.
Your hair is gorgeous in these photos! I kind of wish I had thinner hair, so I don't fluff up when I curl mine! That is a beautiful blouse, too.
