The Camel Coat

I'm really enjoying these cold mornings, I think I might just wear a different coat for every day of this week.
This is my vintage camel coat, I bought this one at the thrift store for $7 dollars. The best time to find nice coats at the thrift store is just before the Summer heat ends, it's not cold so not many people are looking for coats and also people are too busy buying things for Halloween so they oversee the coat rack. There, my secret is out, that's how I've managed to find some awesome vintage coats for great prices.
I forgot to take a picture of the brooche, it's not vintage but it's pretty cute, it's a lady's face with a green vintage-looking hat, goes perfect on my coat's collar.
I really liked todays outfit, this skirt is super old, I bought it back when I still bought all my clothes new).
I bought this necklace 2 weeks ago at the Flea Market, it was $3 dollars. It's missing a little pearl but for me it's perfect. I kind of like old things that are rejected by others, I feel like it's my turn to give them a second chance to shine, that's how I feel about vintage overall.
Outfit Details:
Shirt: Gap/thrifted
Skirt: Apt. 9 / Kohls
Vest: Talbots/ thrifted
Camel coat: Vintage
Lady brooche: thrifted
Boots: Charles Davis

I LOVE the necklace. The boots are killer. And the coat...the coat made me cry. It reminded me of my grandma whom I miss so very much.

I love your outlook on life and I LOVE that your class is so well behaved. That is beautiful.

When I was a teacher I wasn't good at it at all. I was GREAT at loving the kids and finding the very, very best in them, but I was horrendous at the discipline. Positively horrendous. So glad you are a great teacher!

This is all quite divine! Especially the boots and coat. My son's class is a lovely quiet, trusty class, i am sad he will be moving up without many of them next year.

I also love this outfit. And the story about your students is so great. Those are the things that make you glad to be a teacher.

Your coat was such a lucky find! I've got my eye out for a camel coat as well. Probably wont happen until springtime sales though.

I love your look, especially with the vest, it really pulls everything together.

(and the necklace would probably be a really simple fix!)

Great coat! Camel is such a classic colour.

And lovely to hear about your classroom. Sounds like you're making yourself obsolete! Not really, sounds like you're doing a great job of preparing them for adult life.

I love your boots. They absolutely deserve to be photographed!

I know what you mean re: buying vintage coats. I couldn't believe my luck last year - I bought three beautiful coats at Salvation Army for a couple of dollars, just before the weather got cold. There were so many pretty ones out there, just waiting to be picked like ripe fruit! This year, though, shopping ban = no new coats! :(
