Another Refashioned Favorite

Ladies I have spent the past 2 days cleaning my house and cleaning out my closet. If there is something that I really hate is having a messy house and overcrowded closets. So I took out anything that I had not worn, any clothes whose colors I don't like even though I liked the shape, fabric, etc. Out went any clothes that I felt like I had to wear just because they were hanging in my closet, any skirts "that fit but..." (any excuse goes here) and anything that I had attached a bad memory to. I have 3 bags going to Goodwill, 2 of them mine and 1 my son's. He really needs some clothes, his closet is practically empty, so after Goodwill I'm stopping by Old Navy to buy him some new clothes. Anyone excited about Thanksgiving? I just hope my family doesn't ask me to cook anything. I'm not a good cook but I'm a very good eater. ^_^I
In Mexico Thanksgiving is not celebrated (American Holiday) so till last week I never knew what the cranberry sauce was for! I didn't know if it was supposed to be eaten on it's own like a dessert or what. Finally my friend at work cleared me up on that (we never have it at home).

Last night I finally altered this skirt I love how it came out, please excuse the ugly gym clothes and socks and red shoes hahaha. As you can see I had already marked it and was about to cut it out when I suddenly remember to take a before picture.
I don't think I'm going to do Black Friday this year, I don't like overcrowded places and buying in a rush just doesn't seem that appealing to me, I will probably make a stop though to buy things for my son.

Descubrí tu blog hace unos días y ciertamente me gusta el contenido y tu estilo. El llamado modesty style, me encanta. Creo que es elegante.

Ohhhh, how I wish I could wear skirts like this. SIGH.

How is your Thanksgiving break? Do you use a tripod to take your pictures?

The skirt looks great! I love how you chopped it off from the top and created a new waist band, then you didn't lose any of the great fullness at the bottom!

Hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving!

Gracias Xavi =)
Thank you ladies, and yes Lyddie I did chop the top to keep the fullest part at the bottom, I think it came out pretty good.

Chandra I have a tripod but I rarely use it, I just place my camera over my kleenex box that's on my dresser hehe I like this part of the house because it's got the best lighting, the rest f my house is too dark.

I love the skirt! So, for a sewing novice like me, how do you create a waistband?

This turned out so nice!

The last skirt I tried to 'refashion' wound up in the trash after I cut it just a little too short. Oops! I guess it takes practice, and I was glad I'd bought it at Goodwill! ;)
